The Karima Foundation, based in High Wycombe, works on various community projects ranging from education to sports. Please browse our website for a more detailed insight into what we do.

High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire is situated in the south east of England in the Chiltern Hills only 30 miles from the fringes of London. Aylesbury and Oxford are also in close proximity. The town is easily accessible from motorways such as the M40 off junction 3, 4 and 5. The town may also be caught from the M4 off junction 8 on to A404.
High Wycombe has a relatively small Muslim population compared to other towns or cities in the United Kingdom. The Muslim population is mostly made of immigrants and their offspring. Most of these immigrants are from the Subcontinent (the majority being from Pakistan). AlhamduliLah, recent years has seen an increasing number of converts join our community.
The first mosque in High Wycombe was built in 1981 and it remains hitherto the largest Muslim institution in the town and surrounding areas. Several years ago the Mosque committee expanded by building satellite masjids in Totteridge and Castlefield, which happen to be heavily populated Muslim areas, thus making attending prayers and functions more convenient for residents of these smaller constituencies.

"Karima al-Marwaziyya" (may the mercy of Allah be upon her) was chosen by the website planning team on the advice of Sheikh M. Akram (Oxford Centre of Islamic Studies) because the team wanted to revive the name of one of the greatest female scholars of the past whilst at the same time, benefiting from the blessings that descend when the pious are mentioned.
Right: Calligraphy on the site was produced by Calligrapher Ustadh Yusuf al Bukhari, a Syrian master of calligraphy, amongst whose works is the calligraphic decorations in the masjid of Imam Abdul Ghani al Nabulsi.
