Poetry Slam
The Karima Poetry Slam aims at bringing together the various strands of the community in High Wycombe through the medium of spoken word. The poetry slam allows people to explore ideas about identity, belonging, racism and citizenship and share those ideas on stage with other people.
Karima Arts aims to encourage the community to actively take part and pursue various art forms including calligraphy, graffiti and spoken word. Muslims have a rich history of poems and through Karima arts we are aiming to revive this tradition in High Wycombe. The Prophet Mohammed (SAW) said ‘in some poetry there is wisdom’.
