Scouts

24 December 2021

Scouting has been part of the Karima offering since 2015, with humble beginnings of a dozen eager Beavers (literally!) the troop has grown and many of those early Beavers are now part of our Scout group.

Scouting allows young people the opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities from hiking, cooking, camping, community engagement and much much more.  Through the framework of scouting we’ve taught valuable life skills and lessons through fun, engaging and meaningful activities.

The scouting principles and how closely they matched the values and views of the Karima volunteers and our Islamic principles led us to meet with the Muslim Scout Fellowship and begin the process of starting High Wycombe 29th Karima Scouts.

Scouting is guided by the following values:

  • Integrity – Scouts are honest, trustworthy and loyal
  • Respect – Scouts have self-respect and respect for others
  • Care – Scouts support others and take care of the world in which we live
  • Belief – Scouts explore their faith, beliefs and attitudes

Using these values we have developed a programme of activity that helps students nurture their own curiosity, challenge them physically and develop them spiritually from the age of 6 to 14.  We’ve no doubt that once a child engages and goes through the scouting journey they will be more connected with their community, more connected with their natural surroundings and engage positively with both of these as they grow into young adults.

If you wish your child to join please complete the form at tinyurl.com/karimascouts. If a space becomes available and your child is in the right age group we will be in touch.
